    13:48 BST

    Lancs 121-9 v Somerset

A near yorker length ball from Lewis Gregory brings an end to Anderson Phillip's brief innings at Old Trafford.

A full complement of bowling points for second-placed Somerset - but how will they fare in seamer-friendly conditions when it is their turn to bat?

100 for Ben Slaterpublished at 13:38 British Summer Time

    13:38 BST

    Kent v Notts 168-0

What a brilliant 14th first-class century for Ben Slater.

He's been in complete control of bullying the Kent attack for 109 balls.

It is brought up with a cover drive to the boundary - his 18th four of the day.

    13:37 BST

WICKET Balderson c Overton b Gregory 1published at 13:36 British Summer Time

    Lancs 115-8 v Somerset

Three wickets gone for one run.

    13:35 BST

Nick Gubbins wins the race with James Vince to reach fifty first.

A slightly streak inside edge for a single but he's at the milestone in 106 balls.

    13:32 BST

    What a beauty.

A magnificent delivery from Craig Overton is too much for George Bell, who becomes his fourth victim of the opening day.

Tom Bailey is the new batsman and Overton immediately finds the edge, but it drops short of the slips.

  13. County Cricket Championship, day one - scores, radio commentary & live text (11)

WICKET Gohar b Robinson 13published at 13:30 British Summer Time

    13:30 BST

    Glos 79-7 v Sussex

    Through the gate.

WICKET Budinger lbw White 56published at 13:29 British Summer Time

    13:29 BST

    Northants v Leics 109-4

Did that one keep a little low?

Sol Budinger's innings comes to an end as Jack White, bowling round the wicket, wins an lbw decision.

The Northants paceman has 2-11 from nine overs.

  15. Snater the pick for pinpoint Essexpublished at 13:29 British Summer Time

    13:29 BST

Warks 78 all out v Essex

Warwickshire have already been bowled out once by Essex for under three figures this season when they slumped to 94 against today's rivals at Chelmsford in May.

But they have comfortably eclipsed that with this 78 all out, their worst since last July when Middlesex bowled them out here for 60.

Essex's attack was faultless. One round after sending Nottinghamshire on their way for 93, they have removed Warwickshire in little more than a session.

Shane Snater deserved to be applauded off the field by his teammates having snagged the final wicket, his 5-13 in 7.4 overs, the eighth time he has a first class five.

  16. Postpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time

    13:24 BST

    Kent v Notts 153-0

New session, same as the last session.

Nathan Gilchrist is the no ball fiend this time as he begins the post-lunch era by overstepping, which Haseeb Hameed lavishly helps to the point boundary.

Kent just need to find some control from somewhere as the 150 is passed.

WICKET: Hannon-Dalby lbw b Snater 1published at 13:23 British Summer Time

    13:23 BST

Warks 78 all out v Essex

    And that is that.

A five-for for Shane Snater who removes OHD lbw and well deserved.

A fine effort from Essex's bowlers.

  18. County Cricket Championship, day one - scores, radio commentary & live text (14)

WICKET Wells lbw Overton 14published at 13:22 British Summer Time

    13:22 BST

    Lancs 114-6 v Somerset

Two wickets in quick succession at the start of the afternoon session for Somerset, who have their second bowling point.

Craig Overton sends down a full-length inswinging delivery from round the wicket and Luke Wells is beaten on the inside edge as he tries to drive.

Overton now has 3-25 from 10.1 overs.

  19. County Cricket Championship, day one - scores, radio commentary & live text (15)

for Sol Budingerpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time

    13:19 BST

    Northants v Leics 102-3

County Cricket Championship, day one - scores, radio commentary & live text (16)Image source, Rex Features

A boundary off Yuzi Chahal and Sol Budinger reaches his fourth first-class century from 82 balls faced.

He has curbed some of his natural attacking instincts in a good innings for his side, but Leicestershire will want him to build on this foundation and turn it into a 'biggie'.

  20. County Cricket Championship, day one - scores, radio commentary & live text (17)

WICKET Hurst lbw Gregory 11published at 13:18 British Summer Time

    13:18 BST

    Lancs 114-5 v Somerset

The lunchtime bowling practice pays off for Lewis Gregory.

Matt Hurst plays slightly down the wrong line and he is gone.

Lancashire in all sorts of trouble now as George Bell joins Luke Wells.
